Careful and considerate use of your RWS certified Uruguayan merino wool garment
Some natural pilling will occur during the first few uses of the garment.
Pilling is not a "forever thing". In fact, after a few uses it will happen less and less over time as loose fibers work their way to the surface.
To remove pilling, use an electric fabric shaver that will cut through the fabric and remove only the surface fibers. A sweater rock or comb will also work, but use carefully; if used too forcefully, they can pull out more fibers than desired.
Fill a container with clean, warm water.
Add neutral soap.
Soak the wool garment for 10 minutes.
Rinse well in lukewarm water.
Rinse again in cold water.
Let the garment air dry naturally in a horizontal position.
Avoid direct sunlight, magnified sunlight (near an outside window), or direct heat.
Store your knits in a clean and dry space with lavender bags or your favorite anti-moth product.
Always clean your clothes before storing them, this helps prevent odors, stains and dirt accumulation.
Fold, instead of hanging. This will help the garments retain their shape while in storage.
Careful and considerate use for your cotton/linen/hemp garment
To protect your garments, wash them inside out.
Wash with cold water and be sure to use neutral soap.
Avoid conventional fabric softeners.
Dry in the shade and avoid tumble drying as it can accelerate the aging of the garment and cause shrinkage.
Gently shaking the garment while it is still damp helps remove wrinkles naturally.
You can also iron them at medium temperature.
